Last night we (Jessica Andrews and I) chatted with Karen Vecchio, Member of Parliament and Jeff Yurek MPP. They answered questions on issues and topics that they have been hearing from constituents throughout the COVID-19 pandemic as well as questions that came in from our open call. Thanks to everyone who made time to send in questions!
Unfortunately there was an audio input issue with Facebook Live at 7pm, so due to time restraints we chose to record the talk as we felt our time would be better spent getting through as many questions as we could for our viewers since we had so many submissions. During our chat Jeff and Karen took the time to delve into the issues as opposed to just giving cursory answers, which was appreciated.
This video is the first part of our Q&A and we will be posting the second half tomorrow. The main topics of our talk started with a look at the state of agriculture and how the government is dealing with the issues that have been highlighted by COVID-19. From there, we moved into concerns about racism in our society and talked about what is being done at the Provincial and Federal levels to address racism.
I’ll do a more extensive write up as I have time. In the meantime, I hope you take a listen to our talk. Stay tuned for Part 2, which we will post tomorrow.
Thanks for watching!
