St. Thomas and District Chamber of Commerce members had a chance to get an early peek at the new St. Thomas Nissan last week during their August Business After 5 event. The Chamber did an excellent job of publicizing the event and packed the venue to welcome the new member.

Store manager Darrin Lester was on hand to greet the business community and talk a little about what the process of opening the dealership was like and his plans for when the dealership officially opens.

Bob Hammersley, President & CEO of the Chamber, formerly welcomed the dealership to the business community and said “The St. Thomas & District Chamber is pleased and proud to welcome yet another new business to our market. We have come to know owner Darrin Lester over the last year as he prepared to launch the new dealership, and we agree with him completely in seeing a great opportunity to invest in our community.”

The United Way Bicycle also made the rounds with Darrin purchasing it for $500. Putting the grand total as of last week – at over $5000. Before that happened though, Bob Hammersley provided the background history on the bicycle and laid the foundation for what is truly becoming a special story in our business community.
