Hosted by Railworks Coalition and presented by Railway City Tourism, The Beer-lesque & Carniv-ale Show returns on May 11, 2019!
This fundraiser to help preserve the railway assets took St. Thomas by surprise in its inaugural year in 2018 with bodacious burlesque dancers and shocking sideshow acts. This year, Beer-lesque promises more fun and excitement with over thirty vendors from all over Ontario lined up. As with last year’s event, guests will have the opportunity to sample craft alcoholic beverages from different Ontario producers, while perusing the wares of many local artists. Live entertainment for this year will follow in the same vein as 2018’s festival with burlesque, sideshow, and live music.
Last year’s festival was hosted inside Elgin County Railway Museum, amongst the historic trains that are housed there, and beneath a newly-renovated roof. Once again, the Museum will serve as a spectacular venue, highlighting the rich history of St. Thomas. Tying back to the steam engine history, Beer-lesque & Carniv-ale boasts a ‘steampunk’ theme, a subgenre of science fiction that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery. Guests are encouraged, though not required, to arrive in costume and enjoy the day’s festivities.
Tickets for The Railworks Beer-lesque & Carniv-ale Show can be purchased online at www.beerlesque.ca for $25, which includes a Beer-lesque branded sample glass and drink tokens. Don’t miss out on what is sure to become an annually-anticipated event!
