On Wednesday, Feb. 27, Scott Street Apartments announced that their newly updated facility will be ready for tenants on April 1st. They will begin taking applications at two open houses being held on Thursday, March 7 from 4pm to 7 pm and Saturday, March 9th from 1pm to 4pm at the apartment building (50 Scott Street, St. Thomas).

These units will be non-smoking, all inclusive, and feature bachelor and one bedroom apartments, with two bedroom units available in the future. The bachelor apartments start at $775/month and the one bedrooms will go for $875/month, both with WiFi included. A laundry room, modern decor, and a maintained parking lot are some of the amenities offered.

The Scott Street building first opened as a school in 1960 and closed its doors just over fifty years later in 2011. The original Scott Street School was built on the same site in 1881, but was later demolished and replaced by the current building. Though the building has now been completely repurposed, the facade has not changed significantly, maintaining the look of the 1960 Scott Street School.

Affordable housing is currently in high demand in St. Thomas. Scott Street Apartments recommends acting quickly and attending the open house if you want to reserve your spot for April 1.
