Chuckee Zehr is one of Ontario’s leading women of blues. Her soulful voice often leads to requests of Janis Joplin’s music. When those requests come, Chuckee does not disappoint.

No one does Janis like Chuckee. John Till was Janis Joplin’s guitarist at Woodstock and the Full Tilt Boogie Band, which was her band until she died 13 months after Woodstock. This is what he has to say.

“Chuckee’s Janis Joplin Tribute is the best I’ve ever seen. I was very impressed with Chuckee’s vocals and how she’s captured the sound and feeling of Janis. It was an amazing show. I recommend seeing it at least once.” John Till, Guitarist, Full Tilt Boogie

To say that Chuckee is versatile would be an understatement. She is multi-talented; multi-genre and a very dynamic and charismatic entertainer. Chuckee considers herself privileged to be able to connect with and entertain an audience.

This evening will be a celebration of both Janis Joplin and her influence on Chuckee’s own music and songwriting. Accompanied by the Stratford connection of Steve Toman on guitar, Wayne Brown on drums and Ross Mulligan on bass, this respectful tribute to one of Chuckee’s musical influences contains Joplin tunes, Chuckee’s original music, and songs from other female artists.

Chuckee is a classically trained pianist with a voice reminiscent of Janis, Etta and Aretha and she delivers a song with the emotion and passion that draws her audience close and keeps them asking for more.
