On February 7, 2019, nineteen volunteers slept in their cars in the Boston Pizza parking lot to get a little taste of what many experience daily.

Sleepless In Our City is an annual event by United Way that raises awareness for the issue of homelessness in our city. This year, sleepers raised $26,095, which will go to programs and services in the community that support those experiencing homelessness and fight the root causes of homelessness.

Participants included MP Karen Vecchio, Mayor Joe Preston, Economic Development Corporation CEO Sean Dyke, and Police Chief Chris Herridge. Watch their interviews the morning after the sleeping in their cars here:
